Chris Jefferson is a researcher in the field of Constraint Programming (CP). He is currently a Research Assistant at the University of St Andrews, where he is interested in studying how CP propagation methods can be improved using symmetry. He is also finishing his PhD thesis which he commenced at the University of York in 2002, this work is in the area of representing abstract data structures for CP. His other academic interests include group theory, complexity and software engineering; this last interest he undertakes as one of his hobbies, contributing to GNU Compiler Collection (GCC). When not concentrating on his computing based occupations, he enjoys anime, cooking and reading a variety of novels.
